Formed in mid-2020 with a vision to blend dark melodic elements with powerful metal riffs, the band is an international project. Their inaugural album, Black Cosmic Elements, was unveiled in 2021, showcasing intricate compositions and atmospheric depth. Renowned drummer Michiel Van Der Plicht (Pestilence) lent his skills to the project, alongside guitarist and bassist Stavros Bonti and vocalist Jesse Peetoom. The album was brought to life through the production expertise of Giuseppe Orlando at Outersound Studios in Rome, complemented by the visual artistry of Nestor Avalos. Its distribution was managed by Time Tombs Production in collaboration with Season of Mist, marking a strong entry into the metal landscape.
By 2022, Aran Angmar had captivated audiences with live performances across Italy and Germany, establishing themselves as a compelling live act. This year marked a pivotal moment with the addition of Alessandro Cupici on drums and Simone Esperti on bass. The refreshed lineup forged ahead into the studio to craft their next musical chapter, Atavism & Dying Stars. Released through Hellstain Productions, this album received the expert touch of Tore Stjerna (Mayhem, Watain) at Necromorbus Studio for mixing and mastering. The album’s visual storytelling was amplified by the cover art from Seth Siro Anton of Septicflesh fame, which resonated with the album’s thematic depth.
Building on their momentum, 2024 saw Aran Angmar release Vae Victis, a single that served as a prelude to their highly anticipated forthcoming album. Released by Soulseller Records, Vae Victis offered an intense and evocative glimpse into the direction of their new music, showcasing the band’s evolving sound and conceptual growth.
In 2025, Aran Angmar took their sonic journey even further with the release of their latest album, Ordo Diabolicum. Pushing the boundaries of their dark, atmospheric, and aggressive sound, the album cements their place in the extreme metal scene. Featuring a haunting blend of melodic brutality and intricate storytelling, Ordo Diabolicum represents the band’s most ambitious work to date, embodying their artistic evolution and unwavering commitment to the genre.
